Dr. Flavia Piancazzo holds a PhD in Sociology of Cultural and Communication Processes from the Department of Science and Culture of Well-Being and Lifestyles at the UNIBO, with a dissertation focusing on Eurocentrism in fashion is an Adjunct Professor of Media Communication and Fashion Analysis and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the UniBo. Her research focuses on cultural sensitivity within the fashion system, with a particular emphasis on cultural appropriation. She has contributed to the organization of numerous academic events, including the international conference "Fashion in 3D: Decolonizing, Deconstructing, Decentering" and "Oltre il Canone," a conference on inclusive fashion. Actively engaged in both national and international collaborations, she served as the scientific coordinator of the "Weaving Archives" project, overseeing a multidisciplinary workshop funded by the University of Florence in collaboration with the DAR, UniBo. Furthermore. She contributed in organizing Caleidoscopica, an interdisciplinary initiative developed by the Department of the Arts, UniBo and the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE), that involved academics, students, institutions, and producers.
