The
research activity has been mainly focused on the development of
novel catalysts and related processes (from laboratory to the oilot
plant) with significant economic and environmental advantages. The
main subjects refer to the study of heterogeneous catalysts and
improvement of process for selective oxidation or ammoxidation of
paraffins and olefins to maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and
acrylonitrile; the steam-reforming and autothermal reforming of
natural gas to produce H2 or synthesis gas, the catalytic
production of hydrogen from biomasses; the study of mechanism and
preparation of new materials for the catalytic abatement of
volatile organic compounds; new processes of HFC synthesis
starting to olefins and of fluorovinilethers and study of catalitic
mechanism.
Hydrogen
production from renewable sources (biomasses) by catalytic partial
oxidation or steam reorming applied to plans of different size.
This activity is performed in the frame of the European Project
CHRISSGAS (FP6)
Selective catalytic reduction and selective
adsorption of NOx, the activity has been focused to the study of
new materials and reaction mechanism and/or catalytic assorption od
NOx fron mobile and fixed sources.
