1992 - Graduated in Animal Production Science at the
University of Bologna.
October 1992/September 1994 - Grant on "Study and research on
small animal intensive rearing tecnologies" at the
Institute of Zoocolture of the University of Bologna.
January 1995/December 1997 - Grant on "Study and research
on animal feeding and quality aspects of poultry and rabbit
products" at the Institute of Zoocolture of the
University of Bologna.
October 1995/July 1996 - Visiting researcher at the
Department of Animal Nutrition at the University College of Cork
(Ireland). During his staying he worked on a project regarding
the use of vitamin C and E in poultry feeding to improve
the oxidative stability of animal products.
From 1998 to 2014 has been researcher at the
Department of Food Science of the University of Bologna.
From 2014 is Associate professor at the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences.
He is representative member for Italy in the
Management Committee of the COST 923 "Multisciplinary Hen Egg
Research" and vice chairman of the WG n. 1- Food use
of novel products and fractions.
He participated to the European project “RESCAPE “Reducing egg
susceptibility to contaminations in alternative production in
Europe” funded within the VI FP (2006-2009).
He is member of the Council Directive of the Italian branch of the Worlds Poultry
Science Association and member of the Scientific Association
of Animal Production.
He is member and Italian representative of the working
group n. 4 “Quality of eggs and egg products” of the
World's Poultry Science Association.
He has been member of several Scientific and Organising
Commitees of international Congresses and Symposia.
