Federico Purri is a geologist and PhD candidate in Geological Sciences at the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences (BiGeA), University of Bologna. His research focuses on high-resolution sequence stratigraphy, 3D subsurface modelling and seismic characterization of coastal plains, with particular attention to deltaic and paleovalley systems in the Po–Adriatic domain.
His training combines fieldwork, laboratory analyses and numerical modelling, and his main interests concern the relationship between geological processes, natural hazards and spatial planning. He collaborates on national research projects, is co-author of scientific papers and official geological maps, and is actively involved in young geoscientists’ associations, outreach initiatives and the organization of conferences for students and early career researchers.
