Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Bologna, he carries out his research activities mainly in the field of clinical pharmacology and personalization of medical therapy, with particular reference to the optimization of antimicrobial therapy in patients with severe infections.
Training
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery with full marks and honors from the University of Padua (1989) and specialized in Clinical Pharmacology with full marks and honors at the same University (1993).
Academic career
After having carried out contract teaching at the University of Udine for many years, in 2018 he became Associate Professor at the same University. In October 2020 he became Full Professor at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences of the University of Bologna

He is the head of the Clinical Pharmacology Unit - IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria di Bologna, Policlinico di S. Orsola
Teaching activity
Since 1997 he has been continuously teaching Pharmacology teaching in the degree courses of the Health Area.
Scientific activity
He has participated and participates in national and international research programs. He is the author of over 300 publications in international journals subjected to peer-review and registered on the ISI Journal Citation reports with an H-index of 44 and 8802 citations (Scopus consulted on 10/09/2024).
