  • Bachelor of Economics and Commerce (equivalent of first class honours), The University of Bologna, 1998. Dissertation on: Executive management plan in local governments as an operational tool: theoretical and empirical aspects. She has been awarded with first-class honours degree.

    Professional/Research Activities

  • Prof Federica Farneti and Prof Benedetta Siboni won the following grant Linea Intervento at the end of 2017. The title of the project to develop is The measurement of public value within universities. The amount won is 20.000 euro.
  • Responsiable of the Project “Progetti innovativi nell’ambito degli accordi di cooperazione internazionale” 2016. The theme of the project is: Management and reporting of non-financial aspects by organisations. The project has been funded in 2017 for the amount of 21.000 euro. Partner institutions: Macquarie University – Australia, particularly working, among others,with Prof. John Dumay and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) - Australia, particularly working with Prof. Hussain Rammal. Department in charge: Department of Sociology and Business Law. Department partner: Management.
  • From 2015 she has developed a three years research project, Legal tools of economic and finance for the development and sustainable growth of the territory of Forlì Cesena (Italy). The working group consists of Prof. GENNARI (Coordinator), Prof Menegatti, Prof Cicognani, Prof. Farneti, Prof Corrado and Prof Quarta. They have received financial resources for the amount of 82,500 Euro.
  • Appointed within the Directive Committee of the research group “Gruppo di Studio per il Bilancio Sociale, Associazione nazionale per la ricerca scientifica sul Bilancio Sociale” for 2011/2013.

    The general Meeting of the “Gruppo di Studio per il Bilancio Sociale, Associazione nazionale per la ricerca scientifica sul Bilancio Sociale”, held on the 25 of May 2011, on the basis of the statute art. 26, has appointed the Directive Committee for the period of time 2011/2013 the following: Prof. Franco Vermiglio, Prof. Umberto Bocchino, Prof. Paolo Ricci, Dott. Claudio Badalotti, Dott. Franco Amelio, Dott. Domenico Piccolo, Prof.ssa Chiara Mio, Dott. Paolo Palombelli e Prof.ssa Federica Farneti. The position was extended and ended on April 2015.

  • Member of the working group Global Reporting Initiative NGO/Non-Profit Sector Supplement Project, “Development of the pilot version of the Non-Profit Sector Supplement”, for 2008-2010.   • Collaboration with the “Agenzia per le Organizzazioni non Lucrative di Utilità Sociale, Dipartimento Attività Giuridiche”, a national working group to develop extended performance reporting framework guidelines for Italian not for profit organisations, from September 2008 to February 2010.

    International collaborations

  • She has designing an international Agreement (MoU) between The School of Commerce of South Australia Univesrity (Australia) and the University of Bologna (Italy) to exchange students and faculty members of these institutions from the Academic year2017 and to promote join research.

  • She has designing an international Agreement (MoU) between Curtin University (Australia) and the University of Bologna (Italy) to exchange students and faculty members of these institutions from the Academic year2016 to 2021 and to promote join research.
  • Belongs to the scientific and organizing committees of the “Meditari Accountancy Research European Conference and Doctoral Colloquium 2015”, 2-3 July 2015. The main topic of the conference is: Current Issues on Social, Environmental and Gender Accounting, held at the University of Bologna, Forlì Campus.   • Project ICI-AU, an EU exchange project to foster international collaboration. This proposal has been submitted in September 2010. Dr Farneti is the University of Bologna Representative. The ICI-AU project has been funded on November 2011 for € 223.000from EU and for € 240.000 from Canberra. The other participating universities are:

  • First International Conference on the Sustainable Management of Organisations, held at the University of Bologna 1-3 July 2009. Organised in collaboration with Professor Stephen Osborne (Edinburgh University), Professor James Guthrie (Sydney University), Professor Riccardo Mussari (Siena University), Profesoor Giuseppe Farneti (Bologna University), Professor Paolucci (Bologna University), Professor Grandi (Bologna University). Dr Farneti was a member of the scientific and organisational committee for the conference, as part of her work with the Sustainable Management of Organisations Group, based at The University of Sydney. Also, within this project, Dr Farneti has been guest editor of two special issues — Public Management Review (with Amanda Ball and James Guthrie) and Economia Aziendale on line (with James Guthrie).
  • “Performance measurement within local governments”, a research project that is part the integrated actions Italy-Spain 2008-2009 scheme. The coordinators for the project are Professor Padovani (University of Bologna) and Lourdes Torres (Universidad de Zaragoza). This project is biannual and was awarded a grant of €7,800 Euro.
  • “Visualising value in Australian public-, private- and third-sector organisations: case studies in extended performance management, measurement and reporting” at The University of Sydney, coordinated by Professor James Guthrie.
