Role of new stimuli on cell proliferation, differentiation and senescence
The purpose of research is:
1. To isolate adult stem cells from different human sources in order to obtain an optimal cellular product to be used both as an experimental model in vitro and in vivo for regenerative medicine techniques;
2. To evaluate the effects of different stimuli on proliferation, differantation and senescence in human adult and perinatal stem cells;
3. To evaluate the relationship between citoskeletal changes and stem cell biollogy.
4. Investigate strategies to induce cardiomyocytes to re-enter the cell cycle.
Genomic and post-genomic study of human genes
1. Gender differences in human cell transcriptome.
2. Use of zebrafish as model for the functional study of human orthologous genes.
