After earning a Law degree and completing doctorates in Bioethics (University of Bologna) and in Droit canonique (Université Paris-Sud 11), Federica Botti carried out research and teaching activities at the Departments of Legal Studies and Cultural Heritage of the University of Bologna. She is currently Associate Professor at the Ravenna Campus, where she teaches Cultural Heritage Law, Intercultural Law, and Religions and Human Rights. Since 2004, she has served as scientific coordinator of the website licodu.cois.it. Her main research interests include comparative ecclesiastical law in Eastern Europe, the legal protection of religious cultural heritage, religious bioethics, and the intersections between law, religion, and fundamental rights. Since 2025, she has been Vice-Coordinator of the MA program in Archaeological, Artistic and Landscape Heritage. She is a member of the editorial board of Revista General de Derecho Público Comparado and the editorial committee of the Daimon series (N. IV. Quaderni di Diritto e Politica Ecclesiastica - Ed. Il Mulino)
