Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2014, she carries out his research in the field of the Pharmaceutical Technology. Her interest is particularly devoted to the design of innovative dosage forms for the release of drugs with critical biopharmaceutical properties. Presently, her research is focused on mucoadhesive polymeric matrices for buccal administration of drugs.
Education
Graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology in 1999 at the University of Bologna, she defended her PhD thesis in 2003. During the last year of the PhD programme, she improves her training at the UMR CNRS8612, Institut Galien Paris-Sud, Faculté Pharmacie Paris-Sud, Châtenay-Malabry, France (Equipe 6, Amélioration du passage des barrières par les molécules biologiquement actives, Supervisor Prof. G. Ponchel). From 2003 to 2005 she has Post Doc studies at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Bologna.
Academic career
In 2005, she becomes Research Assistant in Pharmaceutical Technology and joins the School of Pharmacy of the University of Bologna, working at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 2015, she becomes Associate Professor at the University of Bologna.
Didactic activity
Since 2004, she teaches “Phytocosmetic Products”, “Chemistry of Cosmetic Products”, “Modified Release Pharmaceutical Systems” and “Technology, Socio-Economics and Pharmaceutical Legislation I” in First and Second cycle Degree Programmes of the School of Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Sport Sciences. Presently, she teaches Technology and Pharmaceutical Legislation I for the Single cycle degree programme in Pharmacy – Campus of Rimini.
Supervisor of 25 master degree thesis and co-supervisor of 8 master degree thesis. Supervisor of 1 PhD thesis in the Chemistry PhD program, University of Bologna.
Scientific activity
She is author of 61 papers on international peer-reviewed journal, 3 book chapters, and 66 communications to congresses.
She was Investigator in several research projects, namely: Progetto Strategico “Drug Delivery” (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) 2000; Progetto di Ricerca Pluriennale di particolare interesse nazionale ed internazionale 2004; Progetto PRIN 2006; Progetto di Ricerca finanziato dalla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Imola 2010.
