Education
Master degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1999 at the University of Bologna, she defended her PhD thesis in 2003.
During the last year of the PhD programme, she improved her training at the UMR CNRS8612, Institut Galien Paris-Sud, Faculté Pharmacie Paris-Sud, Châtenay-Malabry, France (Equipe 6, Amélioration du passage des barrières par les molécules biologiquement actives, Supervisor Prof. G. Ponchel).
Academic career
From 2003 to 2005 she has post-doctoral research contracts at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Bologna.
In 2005, she become Assistant Professor in the disciplinary sector CHIM/09-Pharmaceutical and Technological Applications of Chemistry, at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Bologna, with affiliation to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
In 2015, she obtained the national scientific qualification for the functions of Associate Professor for the disciplinary sector CHIM/09 and since October 2015 she is Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Bologna.
Didactic activity
Since 2004 she has been continuously teaching as holder of various courses for Bachelor's and Master's Degrees for the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology of the University of Bologna.
She is currently responsible for teaching Pharmaceutical Technology and Galenic Pharmacy of the Master's Degree Course in Pharmacy and teacher of the Micro and Nanovectors module and of the Micro and Nanovectors Exercises module of the teaching of Modified Release Pharmaceutical Systems of the Master's Degree Course in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology of the University of Bologna.
Scientific activity
She partecipated in several national and international projects, namely:
PRIN 2022: 3D-printed antibiotic oral dosage forms for pediatric use (p3Diatrics).
Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna 2022: Synthesis of natural-like molecules, pharmaceutical formulation and clinical-therapeutic correlation (Thematic macroarea: Infectious diseases).
Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - DRUG DELIVERY 2000: Polymeric systems for control of the release and targeting of drugs.
Ricerca Pluriennale di particolare interesse nazionale ed internazionale E.F. 2004: New technologies for the delivery and control of the release of peptide drugs with critical biopharmaceutical characteristics: anti-infectives, hypoglycemics.
PRIN 2006: Nano/microtechnologies for modulating the biological availability of drugs having critical solubility and permeability.
Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Imola 2010: Optimization of the biopharmaceutical properties of formulations for the nasal administration of drugs for degenerative diseases of the central nervous system.
She is author of 78 papers on international peer-reviewed journal, 3 book chapters, and 80 communications to congresses.
