Curriculum vitae

Fabrizio Mandreoli (Bologna, 1972) has worked in a number of communities and in the local penitentiary; now, in addition to his academic commitments, he collaborates with the “Insight” research centre and teaches at the Bologna prison. He studied theology and history in Bologna and Milan (PhD), then went on to study philosophy and languages in Frankfurt, Jerusalem and Boston. Now he has just completed a second PhD research - in philosophy - at the Sophia Institute in Florence and the University of Perugia on Erich Przywara. He knows a number of languages (modern and ancient) and has been studying Hebrew (modern and biblical) and Arabic (modern and Koranic) for some years. He teaches Fundamental Theology, Comparative and Contextual Theology, and also collaborates on various research and training projects at the Theological Faculty of Central Italy and the ISSR of Tuscany. He has published studies on the history of theology (Middle Ages and modern age), on the Second Vatican Council, on Giuseppe Dossetti, Bruno Latour and Erich Przywara; he is now studying the theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and other topics related to faiths, identities and citizenship with a specific focus on the non-violent interpretation of the founding texts within the three Abrahamic monotheisms.
