Updated in February 2017.

1. Catalysis for the transformation of renewable raw materials (biomass) into chemicals and additives for fuels, in the liquid phase and in the gas phase.

2. Catalytic oxidation of sugars into dicarboxylic acids (glucaric acid).

3. Catalytic transformation of glycerol into acrylic acid and methacrylic acid with cascade reactions.

4. Hydrolysis of biomass with acid catalysed reaction.

5. Transformation of bio-ethanol into 1-butanol (Guerbet reaction) and butadiene (Lebedev process)

6. Nanostructured catalysts based on noble metals for oxidation and hydrogenation reactions.

7. Hydrogenation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and furfural to methylfuran and glycols, by means of H-transfer from alcohols.

8. Catalytic dehydration of bio-alcohols to alkenes.

9. Catalytic gas-phase oxidation of butanol to maleic anhydride.

10. Synthesis of organic carbonates, and their use for the functionalisation of phenolic compounds.

11. Ketonisation of renewables-based carboxylic acids.

12. Isomerisation and epimerisation of sugars.

13. Oxidative scission of oleic acid and triglycerides.

14. Gas-phase hydrogenation of levulinic acid.
