Theoretical Astrophysics
Current research interests of Fabrizio Brighenti involve the
astrophysics of the interstellar medium in galaxies (Dwarfs,
Spirals and Ellipticals) and in Galaxy Clusters. These studies are
developed in collaboration with scientists at the University of
California and NASA-Ames and currently focus on the following
subjects:
i) Dynamics of galactic winds and their effect on galaxy
evolution;
ii) Feedback from active galactic nuclei on the hot gas in groups
and clusters;
iii) Origin and emission of the interstellar dust in early-type
galaxies;
iv) Estimate and distribution of dark matter in galaxies and
galaxy groups;
v) Interaction between cosmic rays and the intracluster medium in
galaxy clusters;
vi) Chemical Enrichment history in galaxies and galaxy clusters.
