Description:: K-OAr (CLARIN Knowledge Centre for Oral Archives in Italy), is a centre hosted by the University of Siena, Arezzo Campus, dedicated to providing consultancy on the preservation, management, study, and reuse of oral archives. It offers support on digitization, ethical and legal issues, privacy/GDPR, informed consent, metadata, and cataloguing. As part of the CLARIN Knowledge Centres network, K-OAr contributes to the European infrastructure for language resources, with a specific specialization in oral heritage. Established as an outcome of the STOA project, it promotes shared standards and best practices in collaboration with the Tavolo Permanente per le Fonti Orali. The centre also aims to foster scholarly dialogue through Oral Archives Journal, an open-access journal dedicated to oral archives. Its main mission is to ensure that oral sources are preserved, managed, and made accessible responsibly for future generations.
