Education

Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology (2007), with a dissertation entitled "Neuroprotective Effects of Sulforaphane in In Vitro Models of Neurodegeneration." Graduated summa cum laude in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Bologna (2003). Scientific High School Diploma from the "T.C. Onesti" High School in Fermo (1997).

Academic Career

Since 2021, Associate Professor (Scientific Disciplinary Sector BIO/14 – Pharmacology) at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, University of Bologna.

Since 2008, Researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Bologna (now Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology). Qualified as Associate Professor in the 2019 National Scientific Qualification.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2006–2008) and Ph.D. candidate (2004–2007) at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Bologna.

Teaching Activities

Since 2008, she has continuously taught several courses within the degree programs offered by the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology.

She currently teaches Toxicology (Module 2) and Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology in the Degree Programme in Pharmacy, as well as Environmental and Food Toxicology and Applied Toxicology (Module 2) in the Degree Programme in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Research Activities

She has participated in several national research projects, including PRIN 2010, PRIN 2015, and PRIN PNRR, and served as Principal Investigator of a Research Unit within the PRIN 2017 program. Since 2008, she has been the recipient of University Research Funds (RFO).

From September 2007 to August 2008, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior, University of California, Irvine, in the laboratory directed by Professor F.M. LaFerla.

She serves as a reviewer for international journals in the fields of neuropharmacology and toxicology.

Institutional Responsibilities

Since February 2023, she has served as a Member of the Executive Board of the Italian Society of Toxicology (SITOX).

She is Secretary of the Degree Programme in Pharmacy and serves as the institutional coordinator and chair of the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology's Animal Facility Working Group.

Professional Memberships

She is a member of the Italian Society of Toxicology (SITOX) and the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF).
