After the PhD in Physics obtained in 2010 at the University of Bologna, I have been research fellow in the group of physics education and history of physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. From 2004 to 2011 I have been scientific collaborator and, successively, Scientific Director of the Museo del Bali, science center located in the central Italy (Provincia di Pesaro-Urbino). As part of my museum activities, in 2007 I curated an exhibition on the physicists Giuseppe Occhialini and his scientific contribution to cosmic ray physics and Italian astrophysics. In 2008, this work obtained the Prize for “didactic and contribution to the history of physics” from the Italian Physical Society. From 2015 to 2016 I have been Humboldt Research Fellow at the Europa-Universität in Flensburg, Germany, where I carried out a project on the "Wilson's cloud chamber" - first device which made visible the trajectories of subatomic particles - and its impact on the teaching of physics during the 20th Century. From 2016 to 2017 I have been Scholar in Residence at the Deutsches Museum in Munich where I carried out a research on the first "bubble chamber" built at the CERN during the 1960s and its role in the international race to the discovery of particle called "Omega minus" in 1964. Since 2019 I am researcher in the history of physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy and scientific responsible of the Collection of the Physics Instruments at the University Museum Network of the University of Bologna.
