Erica Locatelli was born in Cesena, Italy in 1986. She received her
Master's Degree in industrial chemistry at the University of
Bologna in 2010 with a final project directed toward the
obtainement of hybrid multifunctional nanosystems composed of
silver and gold nanoparticles linked one to each other through a
click chemistry reaction. She has got the PhD in the
department of industrial chemistry "Toso Montanari" under the
supervision of Prof. Mauro Comes Franchini and she has been a Post-Doc research at the same institution for more than six years. She is now an Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry. Her present interests
lie in the field of nanotechnology and nanomedicine and her
research is focused in the synthesis and characterization of
multifunctional nanosystems based on metal nanoparticles entrapped
into biocompatible polymeric micelles for theranostic applications and materials science.
