Curriculum vitae

Expert in the field of urban, regional, and landscape planning. Over the years, he has developed and consolidated extensive work and research experience—both empirical and scientific—including professional consultancies for public administrations and research institutions.

Education

Degree in Regional and Urban Planning from the Università Iuav di Venezia (formerly Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia), 1992.

Awarded a scholarship for the Advanced Training Course in Territorial Information Systems and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) at the Università Iuav di Venezia, 1994.

Teaching Experience

Adjunct Professor for the "Regional Planning" course (Module 2) within the Civil Engineering degree program at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, academic year 2023-2024.

Adjunct Professor for both monodisciplinary courses and studios within the Urban and Regional Planning degree program at Università Iuav di Venezia, 2000–2013:.

Throughout these years, he has served as supervisor for numerous undergraduate and Master’s degree theses.

Scientific Activities

Member of the “Abitanza marina” collective, selected for the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (Italian Pavilion: “Terræ Aquæ. Italy and the Intelligence of the Sea”). The project, featured in the academic results section, is titled: "If you happen to deal with water, consult experience first and then reason."

Recipient of a two-year research grant for “Research and experimentation for the protection of the Adriatic Sea (PRISMA 2)” under an agreement with the National Research Council (CNR), focusing on environmental issues related to anthropogenic, morphological, and territorial transformations.

Two-year Research Fellow at Università Iuav di Venezia – CORILA (Consortium for Coordination of Research Activities concerning the Venice Lagoon System) for the program: “The Venice Lagoon in the context of climate change, mitigation and adaptation measures, and land-use evolution” (Research line: "Planning and recovery of areas adjacent to inlet mouths affected by tide regulation interventions").

Participant in several national and international research programs, including: CORILA: “Venice 2021: Scientific research program for a regulated lagoon”; Veneto Region (Spatial Planning Department): “Common best practices in spatial planning for the promotion of sustainable POLYcentric DEVelopment” (PolyDev Project, Interreg III B - Cadses Program).

Professional Experience

Professional activity began in 1992, covering urban, regional, and landscape planning. Key projects and appointments include: Regional Coordination Territorial Plan (PTRC) of the Veneto Region; Strategic Plan for Logistics Development in Veneto; Morphological Plan of the Venice Lagoon; Management Plan for the UNESCO "Po Grande" MAB Reserve.

In recent years, he has been involved in several River Contracts (Contratti di Fiume) and UNESCO candidacies, serving both as a consultant and a scholar of ongoing experiences.
