Professor Emilio Tagliavini belongs to the Department of
Chemistry "G. Ciamician" of the University of Bologna as full
professor of Organic Chemistry (SSD CHIM/06). He also belongs to
the Campus of Ravenna of the Univesity of Bologna. He is Director of the Interdipartimental Center of Industrial Research for
Energy and Environment, now Renewable Sources Environment, Marine and Energy (CIRI FRAME). From 2018 he is memebr of the Academic Senae of the university of Bologna.
He was born in Reggio Emilia on november, 9th 1954. He graduated
cum laude in Chemistry at the University of Bologna
with Prof. Achille Umani-Ronchi.
He became university Researcher in 1983 at the University of
Bologna, than in 1992 Associated Professor at the Faculty of
Engineering of the University . "Federico II" of Naples after
winning of a public competition. Later he moved again to the
University of Bologna.
In 2005 he was appointed by the
Faculty of Sciences of the University of Bologna as Full Professor
of Organic Chemistry .
He taught Organic Chemistry laboratory, Chemistry of Natural
Products, Sustainable Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Bio-organic chemistry in
different courses of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of
Bologna and Organic Chemistry in the course of Chemical Engineering
at the University of Naples. He has been member of many exam
boards.
He has been member of the Teaching Board of the PhD in Chemistry and in Environmental Sciences. He
has been supervisor of many BS, MS and PhD thesis in Chemistry
and in Environmental Sciences.
Professor Tagliavini has been President of the Degree Courses in
Environmental Sciences (1st level and 2nd level). From 2007 to
2012 he has been part of the Council Board of the Campus of
Ravenna.
He is Programme Director of the Erasmus Mundus Master Course in
Chemical Innovation and Regulation - ChIR.
Professor Tagliavini is co-author of about 110 scientific
publications in peer-reviewed international journals (h index = 36).
He is peer-reviewer of important Chemistry journals (Angew.
Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Org. Lett., Chem Eur. J.,
etc.)
He has been Principal investigator of the EU project SMOCC
within FPV from 2001-2004. He has leaded from 2006 to 2010 one
research unit of the Project AEROCLOUDS" of the italian MiUR. He
has leaded collaborative projects with many industries. He is involved in Regional POR-FESR Projects funded by Regione Emilia Romagna. He hs been PI in the Project VALSOVIT.
The research activity of Emilio Tagliavini has focused on various aspects of Organi Chemistry and of the complementary disciplines: organometallic chemistry, regio- and stereoselective synthetic chemistry, asymmetric catalysis, chemistry of the atmospheric particulates, renewable sources and biomasses, marine organic substances, innovative solvents, recycling of organic waste material.
