Short Bio

Emanuele Gruppioni graduated in Electronic Engineering with a Biomedical Specialization at the University of Bologna. Subsequently, again at the University of Bologna, he obtained the title of Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist. At the Campus Biomedico in Rome he obtained the PhD in Bioengineering and Biosciences.

Since 2006 he has been working in the Research and Training Area of the Centro Protesi INAIL dealing with technological development and management of research projects.

Since 2015 he has been an adjunct professor in the course "Orthoses and orthopedic aids III", Degree in Orthopedic Techniques, School of Medicine and Surgery.

In 2009, with a project related to the development of an active shoulder prosthesis, he received the Antonio D'Auria award from the Italian Association of Robotics and Automation. In 2018, with the Hannes prosthetic system, he won the innovation award of the Association for Industrial Design and later, in 2020, also the prestigious "Compasso d'Oro".

He is currently Technical Director of the Research and Training Area and in this role he coordinates numerous research projects in collaboration with important research institutes.
