Elisabetta Salatelli has got her degree in Industrial Chemistry
at the University of Bologna in 1980. Graduated Technician at the
Faculty of Industrial Chemistry, University of Bologna, since 1982,
in 2001 was assumed as Research Assistant and in 2010 as Associate
Professor at the Department of Industrial and Materials Chemistry,
in the same Faculty. Co-author of 132 scientific papers
published on international journals and 126 communications to
national and international meetings.
The teaching activity includes mainly courses and exams regarding different aspects of Polymer Science. This activity also includes the preparation of about 146 Degree theses as main- or co-tutor, as well as 7 PhD theses in Industrial Chemistry.
Responsible of research projects concerning the optimization of
the production process of biodiesel fuel. Involved in research
projects financed by the Italian Ministry of University and
Scientific and Technological Research (funds PRIN and FIRB), by the
National Research Council, by the European Union and by the
University of Bologna (funds "ex-60%").
Research interests include synthesis and characterization of
functional polymeric derivatives:
· soluble and processable electroconductive polymers
· optically active polymers (poly( g-ketosulfide)s;
photochromic chiral polymers as potential materials for NLO
applications; advanced materials for optical data storage and
chiroptical switches; chiral polyalkylthiophenes)
· organometallic polymers, as ionophores in the
development of chloride-selective electrodes or as
transesterification catalysts
· polymers for specific applications (as drug-binding
matrices; for the immobilization of glycosidases; radical polymeric
photoinitiators for coatings and restaurative dentistry; waterborne
alkyd resins).
