Associate professor of Theoretical Physics, Models and Mathematical Methods at the Department of Physics and Astronomy since 2005. After the Laurea Degree in Physics at the University of Bologna, she obtained the PhD in Physics at Syracuse University (NY, USA).
Her research develops in the field of quantum statistical mechanics, working with several national and international groups, focussing mainly on models for many body systems in low-dimensions, which exhibit topological and exotic phases of matter, and on quantum information and computation theory.
Author of more than 80 papers in international journals and of 3 books.
She is interested in the communication and teaching at high-school level of modern physics, in particular of quantum mechanics.
