Elisa Dal Chiele

Senior assistant professor (fixed-term) since 01.12.2022, she was Junior assistant professor (from 12.04.2021 to 30.11.2022) and Post-Doc fellow in Latin Studies at the University of Bologna (from the academic year 2015/16 to the academic year 2019/20). Her research activity concerns particularly both the Imperial Age prose, with a specific interest to Apuleius' philosophical works, and the Christian Latin, especially Augustine's prose. She has dealt with Augustine's vocabulary with regard to Divine providence, its relationship with philosophical Latin, Augustine's translations from Greek, poetic quotations in Cicero's philosophical works. She is a member of the Centro Studi "La Permanenza del Classico".
