Academic Career and Research Activities
PhD Student in Data Science and Computation, University of Bologna in collaboration with TGen – The Translational Genomics Institute (Arizona, USA).
Research focuses on the development of computational models and algorithms for cancer risk assessment and early detection. In particular, the work involves designing advanced mathematical models to quantify tumor onset risk through the analysis of somatic mutation accumulation and the integration of multi-omics data. An additional line of research focuses on the development of bioinformatics pipelines for early cancer detection based on the analysis of fragmentation, methylation and aneuploidy patterns in cell-free DNA from Whole Genome Sequencing data.
The master's thesis research in Bioinformatics was conducted at the BioFold Laboratory, University of Bologna, focusing on genomic and computational analyses of hematological cancers, with particular attention to somatic variations and clonal evolution processes.
The bachelor's thesis research in Biotechnology was carried out at the Molecular Bioelectrochemistry Laboratory, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and focused on the study of antibody–antigen interactions through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for the characterization of molecular recognition surfaces.
