Elena Irrera is Associate Professor in Political Philosophy at the University of Bologna. In 2005 she achieved a PhD in Ancient Political Philosophy in Durham University (UK). She has been Lecturer in Ancient Philosophy and Modern and Contemporary Ethics at Warwick University (UK). In 2008 and 2009 she has been
Honorary Research Fellow in Ancient Philosophy at Durham University (UK). She has been member of the research group "Poetry and Philosophy in the light of Plato", placed in Bergen University (Norway) (2008-2015). She is permanent member of the
Instituto de Estudios Clásicos para la Sociedad y la Politica "Lucio Anneo Séneca", at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She has been project-coordinator for the FIRB project "Feeding Respect. Food policies and minority claims in multicultural societies" (Marzo 2012-Ottobre 2015). She is the author of books on Aristotle and articles on issues of ancient, modern and contemporary political philosophy. She is currently working on issues of respect, toleration and solidarity in ancient, modern and contemporary times.
