After an extended research period at the University of Cambridge (UK), Dr. Dorian Forte returned to the Institute of Hematology “L. & A. Seràgnoli”, where he conducts research on the leukemic microenvironment and cellular metabolism, with particular emphasis on the use of liquid biopsy approaches. His current research focuses on the characterization of extracellular vesicles in peripheral blood and bone marrow from acute myeloid leukemia patients. In particular, his studies investigate the metabolic role of these vesicles and the immunometabolic mechanisms that regulate the interaction between leukemic cells and the immune system. This research has been supported by competitive fellowships and awards from national and international scientific organizations.
