An architect, he has focused his interests and professional work on museology and museography. He has conducted research in the field of architectural restoration, with particular attention to the projects promoted in Trento by the Central Commission for the Research and Conservation of Architectural Monuments of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Degree in Architecture in 1980 from the Department of Critical and Historical Analysis of the University Institute of Architecture in Venice. Licensed to practice as an architect in 1982. 1983, XXVI International Course in the History of Architecture: The Architecture of Andrea Palladio. 1983, Course in Conservation of Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage, organized by the National Office for Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI) in collaboration with the Central Institute for Restoration in Rome. 2004, Advanced Training Course for Diocesan Museum Managers: The Issues of Ecclesiastical Museums, organized by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Permanent Training Service. 2013, Executive Master in Cultural Management. Advanced training program for the development of advanced skills in the management of cultural organizations in Trentino, Trentino School of Management, School of Tourism Management.

In 1978, she served as a secretary and documentalist in the educational section of the Archaeological Museum of Florence and was a founding member of the "Angelus Novus" cooperative, active in the study and cataloging of historical and artistic heritage. In 1980, commissioned by Roberto Masiero, Paolo Torsello, and Lucia Barsotti, she conducted research (CNR) no. CT 79.01.445.07, entitled "The Catalog as an Integrated Information System. Traditional Techniques and the Use of Computers in the Cataloging of Cultural Heritage." In 1989, the Civic Museum of Bassano del Grappa entrusted her with cataloging the Remondini print collection held at the Civic Bertarelli Collection in Milan. In 1987, she began collaborating with the Diocesan Museum of Trento, which entrusted her with cataloging the Episcopal Print Collection. In 1989, she was hired by the Diocesan Museum of Trento as a curator; in 1995 she became deputy director and in 2014 director, a position she held until 2021.

Since 2004, lecturer on the advanced training course for diocesan museum managers, "The Problems of Ecclesiastical Museums," organized by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Permanent Training Service. From 2010 to 2011, lecturer on the course "Diocesan Museums. Orientations," organized by the National Office for Ecclesiastical Heritage of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI). From 2008 to 2022, lecturer on Museography C - ICAR 16 (30-hour module) at the Department of Humanities and Philosophy of Trento, undergraduate degree program in Cultural Heritage Sciences. In 2022, lecturer on Museography at the School of Specialization in Art History at the University of Macerata. From 2016 to 2024, lecturer on the Master's program in Museology, Museography, and Management of Cultural Heritage Centres at the Catholic University of Milan.

Since 2022, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione Musei Senesi. From 2018 to 2022, he has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Research Center for Education through Art and the Mediation of Cultural Heritage in the Territory and in Museums (CREA) at the Catholic University of Milan. From 2015 to 2020, he was President of A.M.E.I. (Association of Italian Ecclesiastical Museums); from 2010 to 2015, he was a member of the Board of Directors of A.M.E.I. (Association of Italian Ecclesiastical Museums); since 1998, he has been an honorary member of the Società Studi Trentino di Scienze Storiche; and since 2018, he has been an honorary member of the Accademia Degli Agiati di Rovereto. From 2005 to 2018, he was a member of the Provincial Observatory for Cultural Heritage of Religious Interest owned by the Church, established pursuant to the Agreement signed between the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Archdiocese regarding the protection and promotion of cultural heritage of religious interest belonging to ecclesiastical bodies and institutions.

In 2021, the project entitled “The Case of Simonino da Trento, from Propaganda to History” – developed by Domenica Primerano for the Tridentine Diocesan Museum – won the Grand Prix, “European Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2021” in the “Education, Training and Awareness Raising” category.
