Main Research activities: The research activities developed by
Daniele Zambelli, personally performed or realized under his
supervision, include the following axes:
1) Cryopreservation and chilled preservation of the sexed and
unsexed semen in dog and cat.
2) Prostatic diseases in dogs: classification of diseases and their
severity. Diagnosis and medical or surgical treatment of these
diseases.
3) Study of vaginal and cervical anatomic modification during the
oestrus cycle in relation to the possibility performing
transcervical insemination in cat and dog.
4) In vitro production of embryos and cryopreservation of oocytes
and embryos of the cat.
5) ultrasound monitoring of fetal growth and fetal well-being in
the cat.
6) Preliminary studies for the collection of semen from wild
carnivores
7) Study of biochemical characteristics of the semen in normal
subjects and in subject with prostatic diseases, in the cat and dog
