Curriculum vitae

Education

Daniele Pascale graduated in Architecture (curriculum: Conservation) in 2010 at IUAV University, with a dissertation focused on XVI century villas of the Bologna countryside (tutor: Richard Schofield).

He obtained his PhD in Architecture (2015) at the University of Bologna with a thesis on the urban history of Faenza in the XV century (tutor: Francesco Ceccarelli).

He partecipated with a scholarship to the 54° course on Palladian architecture (2012), curated by Howard Burns and Guido Beltramini, CISA - Vicenza.

 

Academic career and teaching activities

He collaborated from 2012 to 2015 in the course of History of Architecture I (School of Architecture, Unibo - Cesena).

Since 2015, he has collaborated in the course of Urban Studies held by E.C.Co - Eastern College Consortium, Bologna (Vassar College, Wellesley College, Wesleyan University).

Since the academic year 2015/16 he has been adjunct professor in the Unibo campuses of Cesena (course of History of Architecture I, module I) and Ravenna (course of History of Italian/European Architecture).

 

Scientific activities

He partecipated in the following congresses:

  • Identità e Rappresentazione. Le chiese nazionali a Roma, 1450-1650 (Rome, 2013, may 22nd-24th), organised by Biblioteca Hertziana and Deutsches Historisches Institut in Rom, under the scientific direction of Susanne Kubersky-Piredda and Alexander Koller. The paper (Ottaviano Mascarino e le chiese nazionali dei Bolognesi e Napoletani a Roma) was presented together with Maurizio Ricci e Augusto Roca De Amicis of Sapienza - Università di Roma.
  • Festa Internazionale della Storia. XI edizione (Bologna, 2014, october 18th-26th), organised by the University of Bologna; scientific committee chaired by Rolando Dondarini. Title of the lecture: Una città nuova per l’Unità: fermenti e progetti a Bologna tra il 1860 e il 1866.
  • La ricerca che cambia. Convegno nazionale dei dottorati italiani dell’architettura, della pianificazione e del design (Venice, 2014, november 19th-20th), organised by IUAV University of Venezia. Title of the paper: La piazza di Faenza e le piazze porticate del Rinascimento italiano. Tra teoria progettuale e pratica costruttiva.
  • La cultura y la ciudad. Imagen y representaciones de lo urbano, ciudades historicas y eventos culturales (Granada, 2015, april 15th-17th), organised by the University of Granada; scientific committee chaired by Juan Calatrava. Title of the paper: Faenza e le sue rappresentazioni urbane: dalla Controriforma al punto di vista romantico di Romolo Liverani.
  • Da Bologna all’Europa: artisti bolognesi in Portogallo (XVI-XIX secolo) (Bologna, 2015, november 30th-december 1st), organized by the University of Bologna, Centro studi sul Rinascimento of Bologna, École Pratique des Hautes Études of Paris, HISTARA; scientific committee chaired by Micaela Antonucci and Sabine Frommel. Title of the paper (presentato together with Francesco Ceccarelli): Le origini bolognesi di Filippo Terzi: questioni biografiche aperte.
  •  Ricerche, novità, nuove attribuzioni sulle opere del Complesso di S. Maria della Vita (Bologna, 2016, march 19th), organized by Museo della Sanità e dell’Assistenza di Bologna (Genus Bononiae), scientific committee chaired by Daniele Pascale Guidotti Magnani. Title of the paper: La chiesa e l’ospedale di S. Maria della Vita. La vicenda architettonica dal XV al XVIII secolo.
  •  Felsina cantatrice. La musica a Bologna e in Accademia fra il 1666 e il 1716 (Bologna, 12-13 novembre 2016), organized by Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, scientific committee chaired by Piero Mioli. Title of the paper: Spazi 'plurali' di musica sacra.
  •  Biagio Rossetti e il suo tempo (Ferrara, 24-26 novembre 2016), organized by Università di Ferrara, scientific committee chaired by Alessandro Ippoliti. Title of the paper: Attribuzioni rossettiane a Bologna. Fortuna critica e riletture d'archivio.

 

Other activities

Since 2014, he has worked with the Research Centre “Ville Bolognesi”. He is one of the founding members of "Associazione Ville Storiche Bolognesi".

He is associated to "Comitato per Bologna Storico Artistica".

Since 2014 he has collaborated to Dizionario Biografico degli italiani by writing biographical entries about Bolognese architects of the early modern period.

Since 2010 he has held courses for the high school students of Liceo Classico “Marco Minghetti” (Bologna). The courses were focused on the history of architecture from XVIII to XX century. 

From 2010 to 2014 he collaborated in the cultural activities of ADSI (Associazione delle Dimore Storiche Italiane), Emilia-Romagna section.

From 2008 to 2012 he collaborated in the organization of congresses and in the press office of Urbanpromo, a cultural event about urban regeneration, promoted by INU (National Institute of Urban Planning).
