The research activities concern the development of Fe-Si steels for applications in the field of sustainable mobility, with a focus on:
- chemical composition optimization;
- optimization of rolling and heat treatment parameters;
- correlation between production process parameters, microstructure and magnetic properties.
These activities are carried out using:
- metallographic optical microscopy;
- scanning electron microscopy - SEM with EDS and EBDS probe;
- Single Sheet Tester - SST for the evaluation of magnetic properties;
- mechanical tests (hardness, tensile tests);
- data processing using Matlab and also with the use of the MTEX toolbox.
The final objective is the implementation of a digital model of the materials studied capable of identifying the chemical compositions and process parameters of the steels that guarantee the best magnetic performances for mobility applications.
