-    Winner of the competition for a Ph.D. position at the Ph.D. School in Geotechnical Engineering – XIV cycle - (consortium between the University of Rome La Sapienza, University of Napoli Federico II e University Napoli II) in June 1999.

-    Teaching Assistant for the courses of Rock Mechanics and Underground Constructions held by Prof. Ribacchi at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Rome La Sapienza.

-    Member of the Master's Course on Stabilization and Conservation of Historic Towns in Unstable Areas on behalf of the Umbria Region from 2000.

-    Visiting pre-doctoral fellow at the Institute for Strength of Materials at the Vienna University of Technology between November 2000 and December 2001.
