Cristina Gentilini has been Associate Professor in Structural Mechanics at the University of Bologna since September 2021. From 2007 to 2021 she served as Assistant Professor in Structural Mechanics at the same university.
She obtained her PhD in Structural Mechanics from the University of Bologna in 2005, after completing her Master’s degree with honors in Building Engineering at the same institution. Following her PhD, she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Structural Mechanics at the University of Bologna from 2005 to 2007.
During her academic career she has held several international visiting positions. She was Visiting Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University, China, in 2019, and Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 2008. Earlier in her career, she was Visiting Scholar at Florida Atlantic University, USA, from 2003 to 2004.
