Cristiana Bragalli is currently an Assistant Professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Bologna, Italy. She received a Master Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Bologna in 1997. In 1999, she enrolled a Ph.D. in Hydraulic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan, Italy, which she obtained in 2001. After completing her Ph.D., she performed research at the University of Exeter, UK.
She focuses on the area of water distribution systems and pressurized irrigation systems, including application of optimization algorithms, district meter areas, reduction of water losses, water and energy efficiency, smart technologies, technical quality indicators. She is co-author of more than 20 papers indexed on Scopus, also Editor of Water Supply (IWA).
Currently she teaches the modules of Water distribution network, Hydropower generation and Advanced Hydrosystem Engineering of the Masters of Science in Civil Engineering at University of Bologna. She has been the Supervisor or Co-Supervisor of over 70 Degree thesis and two PhD Thesis in Hydraulic Engineering
