She conducts research at the Department of Architecture, University of Bologna, and takes part in national and international projects in the fields of Architectural Drawing, Representation, and Architectural Survey, with a focus on Cultural Heritage. In 2023–2025, she served as Leader of the UniBO Local Unit in the PRIN 2022 PNRR project KNOW.it, coordinating research activities and contributing to data curation and the delivery of results in collaboration with the partner units. Her research focuses on:
- Codes and representation models of the historic city and traditional urban fabrics (bi- and three-dimensional reading and restitution).
- Methods and tools for architectural and historic-centre surveying, with particular attention to digital photogrammetry, laser scanning, and workflows for data acquisition, management, and quality control.
- Digital documentation and information systems for the cataloguing, maintenance, and communication of architectural and archaeological heritage.
- Urban quality: representation tools, prescriptive codes, and monitoring methods supporting design and the assessment of urban contexts.
- Italian lighthouses and coastal built heritage, a long-standing research line developed through monographs and peer-reviewed publications, aimed at documenting, analysing, and enhancing a specific architectural and cultural system.
Her research activity follows two complementary strands: (1) the development of theoretical foundations and representational codes for historic built heritage; (2) the experimentation and validation of digital techniques for surveying, documentation, and the management of heritage information archives.
