June 1995: Doctor's Degree in Physics, University of Bologna (Italy), cum laude.

March 2000: PhD in Physics (Condensed Matter), University of Bologna (Italy). Thesis: "Non-autonomous oscillators: theory and applications", scientific supervisor: prof. L. Ferrari.

July 2000-Dec. 2001: Post-doctoral position ("Young researcher") at the Departamento de Física Aplicada, Universidad de Alicante, within the TMR European Network "Fractal Structures and Self-Organization".

Jan. 2002-Dec. 2002: Post-doctoral position at the University of Bologna within the national project "Quantum Effects in Low-Dimensional Solid State Systems".

Jan. 2003-Sep. 2010: Researcher at the CNISM Research Unit of Bologna on "Study of strongly correlated electronic and magnetic systems in low dimensions".

Current position: Researcher at CNR-IMM, Bologna.

Teaching at Bologna University: 2004-06 assistant in Probability Calculus and Statistics (laurea triennale in Scienze di Internet); 2008-21 assistant in Quantum Theory of Matter, Theory of Many-Body Systems, Quantum States of Matter and Radiation and Strongly Correlated Systems (laurea magistrale in Fisica); 2010-14 assistant in Physics of Matter and Radiation (laurea magistrale in Fisica del Sistema Terra). Supervisor and co-supervisor of various graduating and PhD theses.

Referee for Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B and E, Physica D, European Physical Journal Plus.

Participation to several national and international conferences, with oral contributions and posters.

Coordination of three projects for high-performance parallel computing at CINECA.
