Current Position

Since January 2025, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Bologna. Research project: “Design and validation of industrial systems methods and decision-making tools to support the diffusion of renewable energy sources”. Supervisor: Prof. Marco Bortolini.

Education and Training

In March 2018, he received the Bachelor Degree in Management Engineering (grade: 101/110) at the University of Bologna, Italy. Dissertation title: “Distribution logistics in the new Industry 4.0 context”. Advisor: Prof. Alberto Regattieri.

In March 2021, he received the Master degree in Management Engineering (grade: 109/110) at the University of Bologna, Italy. Dissertation title: "Study, Development and Application of an Algorithm for Simulating the Performance of Offshore Wind Farms". Advisor: Prof. Marco Bortolini; Co-advisors: Prof. Mauro Gamberi, Dr. Francesco Gabriele Galizia.

In November 2022, he enabled to the Profession of Engineer (grade: 60/60) by passing the Italian Practice Exam for the Industrial sector within the Second Session 2022 at the University of Bologna, Italy.

In September 2023, he was Visiting PhD Student (3 months) at the Division of Applied Mechanics and Energy Conversion, KU Leuven (Belgium) under the supervision of Prof. Erik Delarue, Head of the Energy Systems Integration & Modeling group.

In June 2025 received the Ph.D. degree cum laude in “Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences"at the University of Bologna, Italy. Dissertation title: “Strategies, models and methods for energy system expansion planning and industrial energy efficiency.” Supervisor: Prof. Mauro Gamberi.

  • Philip Morris Products S.A. (Switzerland) — Innovative solutions for tobacco curing. Focus: optimization of the curing process to reduce energy consumption, curing time, and environmental impact while maintaining high product quality.
  • Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. (Italy) “Study, development, and implementation of a ready-to-use tool for optimizing automated vertical storage systems.” Focus: optimization of material allocation, efficient put-away and retrieval, and real-time performance evaluation.

Teaching

Since A.Y. 2021/2022 Teaching Tutor for Industrial Systems T-AB School of Engineering and Architecture, Bachelor Class in Management Engineering, University of Bologna, Italy.

Since 2023 teaching activities at Fondazione Aldini Valeriani on topics related to production and logistics planning and management, within financed professional learning courses.

In February 2024, Lecturer for AGER – Coldiretti, training course for Tobacco Companies Affiliated with ONT Italia “Optimizing consumption in the curing phase of Virginia Bright tobacco: the importance of monitoring for an efficient curing cycle”.
