Claudio Guidi

Adjunct Professor of Cloud Computing at the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. His research activity focuses on Service-Oriented Computing, microservice architectures, and Cloud Computing, with particular attention to the formal foundations of service-oriented languages, orchestration and choreography models, and PaaS platforms for distributed applications.

Education

He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Bologna in 2007, with a dissertation entitled Formalizing Languages for Service Oriented Computing.

He graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bologna in 2000.

Academic Career

After completing his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna and later at the University of Padua, conducting research on Service-Oriented Computing, Business Process Modeling, and Cloud platforms.

He participated in national and European research projects, including the European FP6 project SENSORIA and the CYBERSAR project.

He is co-creator of the Jolie programming language, developed in academia as a language natively designed for microservices.

Teaching Activity

He teaches Cloud Computing and topics related to distributed architectures and microservices at the University of Bologna.

Over the years, he has also contributed to courses in Theoretical Computer Science and Cloud Comouting Lab.

Research Activity

He is the author of scientific publications in international journals and conferences in the areas of Service-Oriented Computing, microservice architectures, and Cloud Computing.

He has served as track chair and program committee member in international conferences and has acted as reviewer for journals and conferences in the field.
