Claudia Lamanna holds a PhD in Christian and Medieval Archaeology (ARCH-01/E) from the University of Bologna, where she completed a dissertation on public baths in Late Antique Greece. She also earned a Postgraduate Specialisation Diploma in Architectural and Landscape Heritage from the Polytechnic University of Bari, where she previously graduated in Architecture. She is a subject expert (cultrice della materia) in Archaeology at the University of Bologna and has extensive experience in archaeological surveying, 3D reconstruction, and the enhancement of cultural heritage.
She is the recipient of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Postdoctoral Fellowship (HORIZON-MSCA-2024-PF-01-01) to carry out the project BALNEa: Baths’ Architecture in Late Antique Sicily: Natural Resources and Economic Sustainability, scheduled to begin in February 2026 (CORDIS - EU research results).
She sits on the editorial boards of Ktisis – Journal of Late Antique Housing.
She is part of the organising committee of the international summer school “ARCHLabs” (Archaeological Mission in Piazza Armerina – CISEM).
