I hold a PhD in Applied Sociology and Social Research Methodology (University of Milano-Bicocca), an MA in Social Anthropology (University of Turin), and a BA in Cultural Anthropology (University of Bologna).

My research lies at the intersection of Science and Technology Studies (STS), political ecology, and environmental sociology, with a focus on agri-ecological controversies, environmental and social movements, participatory research practices, and the social construction of knowledge and ignorance.

Main Research Experience

  • ENGAGE.APP (CIRI-AGRO, University of Bologna, 2025–ongoing)
    Research fellow working on participation and innovation processes in the agro-food sector.

  • BRIDGES (CNR-IREA, 2021–2024, funded by Fondazione Cariplo)
    Coordinated social research and citizen science activities promoting transdisciplinary approaches to urban soil health.

  • H2020-Viroplant (UNIMIB, 2020–2021)
    Studied risk perception and public acceptability of virus-based plant protection products (bacteriophages).

  • PhD Research (UNIMIB, 2016–2020)
    Investigated the socio-scientific controversy around Xylella fastidiosa in Apulia (southern Italy) using ethnography, interviews, and discourse analysis.

    • Visiting PhD at ICTA-UAB (Spain), conducted additional fieldwork in Alicante.

    • Contributed to the Environmental Justice Atlas.
