Chiara Bologna is Full Professor of Constitutional Law. She is Deputy Dean and Delegate for International Relations of the Department of Legal Sciences. She was a Research Assistant at Harvard University, then a Researcher and Associate Professor at the University of Bologna, where she taught Constitutional Law and Comparative Constitutional Law.
She is a member of the Statutory Guarantee Council of the Emilia-Romagna Region, of which she was President from 2021 to 2024.
She is responsible for the editorial coordination of the journal Quaderni costituzionali, for which she also coordinates the column Cronache dall'estero (News from abroad).
Her main research interests are federalism, regionalism, protection of democracy, freedom of expression, and the US constitutional system. She has published over one hundred articles and comments, including three books: Stato federale e National Interest (Federal State and National Interest), Bologna, 2010; La libertà di espressione dei funzionari (Freedom of Expression of Officials), Bologna 2020; Costituzione e partiti antisistema (Constitution and Anti-System Parties), Naples, 2023.
