Caterina Saracco holds a PhD in Linguistics and specializes in Germanic, historical, cognitive, and contact linguistics. After conducting research on early Germanic languages, onomastics, and historical semantics, she turned her attention to the German-speaking minorities of the Western Alps, particularly the Walser communities of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. Her research focuses on Germanic-Romance contact, language variation, minority-language documentation, and the lexicography of Gressoney Titsch. She has contributed to the CLiMAlp and AlpiLinK projects and currently works on the PRIN HCAI4Gend project. Alongside her research, she has extensive university teaching experience.
