Carola Eleonora Parolin

Researcher at Applied and Molecular Microbiology Lab of the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, she carries out her research in the field of microbial ecology and probiotic bacteria.

Her research interests are focused on human microbial ecosystems (espacially the vaginal one), the interaction among host-microbiota-pathogens, and the mechanisms underlying the health-promoting effect of probiotic bacteria, mainly lactobacilli. She collaborates with several national and international research groups.
