Short Bio

Senior Researcher/Assistant Professor of Public International Law at Univ. of Bologna. He was also Research Fellow (2016-2020) and Visiting Research Fellow at Univ. of Sussex (UK) (2020-2023) and Endeavour Research Fellow at the Australian National Univ. - College of Law (Australia) (2015).

His publications include the ERC Starting Grant-monograph Queering Asylum in Europe (Springer 2021, with the SOGICA team), the edited collection Human Rights as a Horizontal Issue in EU External Policy (Editoriale Scientifica 2021, with M. Balboni), and the monograph Human Rights Protection, Non-discrimination and Sexual Orientation (in Italian, Editoriale Scientifica 2015).

His several research projects concerning international and EU law include the PRIN 2022 MiReIL - Migration and Religion in International Law (Co-PI, 2023-2025) and the PRIN 2022 PNRR GenDJuS - Rights and Prejudice: Linguistic and Legal Implications of Gendered Discourses in Judicial Spaces (Co-PI, 2023-2025).

He is the vice-coordinator of the Bachelor of European Studies - BAES for Unibo and Cluster leader at ERMA - Global Campus of Human Rights/Univ. of Sarajevo.
