Short Bio

Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Public International Law at University of Bologna and Visiting Research Fellow at University of Sussex (UK). He was also Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University - College of Law (Endeavour Research Fellowship 2015).

After a PhD scholarship, he was a post-doc fellow in PIL at Unibo. He is author of a number of publications, especially in relation to international human rights law. In 2015 he published his first book Tutela dei diritti umani, non discriminazione e orientamento sessuale (Editoriale Scientifica). His publications include the edited collection 'Human Rights as a Horizontal Issue in EU External Policy' (Ed. Sc. 2021, with M. Balboni) and the ERC-funded monograph Queering Asylum in Europe (Springer 2021, with the SOGICA team).

He has been involved in several research projects concerning a variety of topics under international and EU law: legal analyses for the EU Agency for fundamental rights, self-determination and Western Sahara, the intersection of IHRL with IRL with specific focus on migrant child and minority groups (SOGICA ERC project).
