Collaboration with:
Pristine
Country:
Germany
Description:
Pristine (PIs: E. Starkenburg e N. Martin) is a photometric survey aimed at identifying extremely metal-poor stars ([Fe/H] <–3.0) in the Local Group to follow-up with spectroscopy. Metal-poor stars are crucial to guide our understanding of e.g. the conditions of the star formation primordial onset, supernova feedback, accretion history of the Galaxy.
Collaboration with:
Gaia-ESO Survey
Country:
United Kingdom
Description:
The Gaia-ESO Survey (PIs: G. Gilmore and S. Randich) is a public spectroscopic survey, targeting more than 100 000 stars at high-resolution, systematically covering all the major components of the Milky Way, from halo to star-forming regions, providing the first homogeneous overview of the distributions of kinematics and elemental abundances.
