Berardo Ruffini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna. He previously served as an Assistant Professor (RTD B) at the same institution from 2019 to 2022 .
He obtained his Ph.D.from the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa in November 2013, with a thesis on optimization problems for elliptic equations advised by G. Buttazzo, followed by two postdocs: at the Institut Fourier in Grenoble and the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris.
His research interests include the Calculus of Variations, Shape Optimization, Geometric Measure Theory, PDE, Optimal Transport Theory, and non-local operators
