Berardo Ruffini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna. Previously, he held the position of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTD-B) at the same university from 2019 to 2022.
He earned his Perfezionamento diploma (equivalent to a Ph.D.) from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa in November 2013. Subsequently, he completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the Institut Fourier in Grenoble and the École Polytechnique in Paris, before taking on the role of Maître de Conférences (a permanent position) at IMAG, University of Montpellier.
His research interests include the Calculus of Variations, Shape Optimization, geometric and spectral inequalities, Geometric Measure Theory, Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), Optimal Transport Theory, and the study of non-local energies and operators.
