My research activity focuses on a few specific areas in the context of contemporary Italian literature:
- the evolution of the historical novel and its contamination with other genres from the twentieth century to the present day;
- the relationship between literature and political engagement;
- the role and diffusion of Italian literature in the global market and in the contemporary media system;
- the use of anthropological categories to study the relationship between literature and myth and the influence on literature of popular forms of comedy.
