 Barbara Mikac is marine ecologist, junior assistant professor at the University of Bologna from 2022, research fellow from 2018 to 2022. Her research interests are oriented towards interactions between marine organisms and their environment, marine biodiversity, anthropogenic impacts on marine and coastal ecosystems, understanding of structure, dynamics and ecology of benthic communities, ecology and taxonomy of the Mediterranean benthic invertebrates, in particular annelid polychaetes. Moreover, she’s involved in environmental education and scientific dissemination activities. She participated in several research projects, applied studies and environmental impact assessment studies at different research institutes and universities in Croatia and Italy. She is author of numerous peer reviewed scientific publications and participated on different international conferences and workshops in the field of marine ecology and conservation and management of marine resources.
