Assunta Bertaccini

Associate professor at the University of Bologna since 2005, and researcher since 1980, she carries out her research in the field of plant pathology. The research interests are addressed in particular to the infectious diseases of plants, in particular to those transmitted by insects. She currently focuses her research on bacterial and viral diseases with particular reference to the classification of phytoplasmas and the study of sustainable ways of managing and preventing these diseases. Engaged in national and international research projects, she collaborates with various institutes around the world. Author of numerous publications, she has received prizes and awards from prestigious Centers and Institutes.
