He has a wide didactics experience both in university lessons
(Industrial Plants, Industrial Logistics, Mechanical Plants,
Automated Production Systems, Industrial Plant Management etc.) and
in extra-university lessons made for Public and Private
Administrations (ACOSER, Barilla, Parmalat, PROFINGEST, COFIMP, API
of Bologna, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Padova, SNAMPROGETTI, SSPA of
Rome, Themis srl of Genova, IRECOOP Emilia-Romagna).
He is author of a university book “Industrial Plants: choose,
design, and realization”, Collection Progetto Leonardo, Esculapio
Ed., Bologna , January 1994.
He is coauthor of a university book “Flexible and Integrated
Logistics”, Collection Progetto Leonardo, Esculapio Ed., Bologna ,
.
He is author of over 90 scientific papers (both experimental than
theoretic papers), about industrial plants, logistic and automated
production systems, published on national and international Journal
and Congresses.
In that papers there are collected many studies concerning
important industrial problems, either in technical or in management
fields.
The results more significant concern:
- Technical and economical optimization of many type of process
plants;
- Automatic design of industrial plant layout;
- Criteria for choice and economical evaluations of the different
automation levels in industrial processes;
- Applications of automatic system of transportation by AGV vehicle
for the solution of industrial logistic problems;
- Rationalization and automation of assembly processes;
- Automation of productive processes in food sector industry;
- Spare part planning in maintenance management.
He has been Dean of Faculty of Engineering of Bologna from 1995 to
2001.
He has been member of the Encore of University of Bologna from 1998
to 2001.
He has been president of the Commission for Scientific Research and
of the “Spin-Off” Committee of University of Bologna from 1999 to
2001.
He has been president of the Observatory for Research of University
of Bologna from 2000 to 2003.
He has been member of the Scientific Committee for the Prize to
innovation “Start-Cup” promoted by CARISBO Foundation and
University of Bologna .
He his member of the Encore and of the Administration Council of
University of Bologna from 2002 till today and president of
Commission for Building and Space of the same university.
