My main areas of interest are:
- forensic pathology and forensic medicine, including the study of firearm and bladed weapon injuries, sudden cardiac death, the application of Bayesian reasoning to forensic pathology, the study of violence (elder abuse, domestic violence, child abuse), the medico-legal and ethical issues of consent, and the application of artificial intelligence;
- forensic toxicology, with a focus on new psychoactive substances (NPS), including the development of analytical methods, the study of metabolism using in vitro and human models, and the effects of NPS on living and deceased subjects;
- forensic genetics and toxicogenetics.
