  • Study of Antinucleon-Nucleon Annihilation at Low Energy: These studies were conducted at the OBELIX experiment operating at the LEAR accelerator at CERN. The main objective was the search for unconventional states predicted by QCD and the study of annihilation dynamics.

  • Production of Heavy Quarks (b and c) in High-Energy Proton-Nucleus Collisions: These studies were carried out with the HERA-B experiment at the HERA facility at the DESY laboratory in Hamburg. The primary goal was the study of the production of states containing heavy quarks and their properties.

  • High Transverse Momentum Physics and Search for New Physics in Ultra-High Energy pp Collisions: These studies will be conducted at the ATLAS experiment currently being installed at the LHC at CERN in Geneva. The main objective of this activity is the search for new states and new physics beyond the Standard Model, such as the Higgs boson, the search for supersymmetry, or extra dimensions.

  • Phenomenological Studies: These studies focused on the experimental topics listed above, mainly concerning the study of the fundamental constants of nature, the determination of the elements of the CKM unitary matrix, and the production of charmonium states in high-energy proton-nucleus collisions.

  • Instrumental Developments for Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics Experiments: In this area, cutting-edge instrumentation for next-generation experiments has been developed. Specifically, electromagnetic calorimeters for detecting low and high-energy photons and electrons, fast neutron detectors, and silicon detectors for ultra-high energy experiments were created. Additionally, fast trigger and readout electronics were designed and implemented. Finally, a farm of high-speed computers for the analysis of large data volumes is being developed and implemented.

  • Development and Installation of Supercomputing Infrastructures: With particular attention to High-Performance Computing (HPC) and the management of large data volumes through High Throughput Computing (HTC). Development of Cloud infrastructures. Development of algorithms for data analysis, including approaches based on Artificial Intelligence.
